Sugimori Pikachu and Series 3 Shelf Asks: Market Signals 2026-08-11: Market Signals 2026-08-11
30th Anniversary Pikachu for August 11, 2026. Pikachu anniversary demand, sealed timing, PSA context, and collector watchpoints.
August 11, 2026 · 4 min read

Tuesday. PokeBeach at 1:14 a.m. posted Ken Sugimori's pack Pikachu. A 10:00 a.m. Grimmsnarl format column is not a product headline.
Series 3 is the only SKU with dated shelf tape this week. The Double Kill published a buyer's note today. Asks and the sold-range guide do not agree. Do not flatten them.
What matters today
Spoilers continue. The wallet item is Series 3: official $14.99, shelves and listings already off that sticker. CN city-event singles entry opens 18:00. No dated tin or Worlds preorder change.
Signal 1: Sugimori is pack-Pikachu #1
PokeBeach, August 11: Pikachu by Ken Sugimori. Official pack-Pikachu #1. Chubbier original-proportion art. Fireworks foil layer on all 30 pack Pikachus.
September 16 unchanged. This is the one-per-pack subset, not yesterday's day / night Pikachu ex. Later weekday updates will land on this same URL. Today the name is Sugimori.
Do not price a common pack Pikachu off the artist name. Thirty in the set, one per pack. Raw commons get thick.
Signal 2: Series 3 shelf, three different numbers
The Double Kill, August 11: "Where to Buy the Pokemon First Partner Illustration TCG Collection (Series 3)."
- Street: Pokémon Center and most TCG retail on August 7. Official **MSRP** $14.99 / £14.99. - Shelf quote: "you'll be lucky if you can pick one up for that price." Pokémon Center "usually the first place to go live… And the first to go out of stock." Target and Best Buy flagged for morning checks. Mix of flooded stores and doors-open sellouts. Same pattern as Series 1–2. - Public **asks** (not solds): Amazon $59.95, "currently in stock," more expected August 15. One TCGplayer listing $51.74 + $19.95 shipping, "down from a high of $89.99." That $89.99 is the listing's own history, not a sold print. - Target.com product page: street August 7, **$17.99** tag on the official Series 3 SKU. Above $14.99 MSRP. Retail tag / ask, not MSRP. - pokemoncenter.com US search in this pass did not return a live Series 3 PDP. First Partner Collector's Binder ($9.99) showed SOLD OUT. Fits "PC already gone." Not a restock notice.
Signal 3: the guide sits under the asks. Mixed SKU.
PriceCharting ungraded guide $37.29. Same page TCGPlayer cross-price $33.17. Grade 8 column $30.75. Other grades blank. Volume note: ungraded about 3 sales/day. The sold table mixes sealed Series 3 boxes, Hoenn promo trio lots (MEP 055–057), and loose singles. Mixed-SKU range. Not a clean sealed-box print.
That guide is below today's Amazon $59.95 and below the $51.74+$19.95 ask. Versus $14.99 MSRP it sits roughly 2.2x to 2.5x. Range observation, not a sale.
The tape is wide. Do not collapse it to one sold number. No clean August 11-only sealed sold row.
CN city-event singles window opens 18:00, still from yesterday's batch 8 post. No new CN article.
Language / PSA
Series 3 slabs now only pad the denominator. A mixed-SKU guide is a worse input for PSA.
Keep the English box and the JP 30th lottery in separate books.
