Centering compares the visible border widths on the left and right sides of a card, then repeats the same check for the top and bottom borders. A well-centered card has balanced borders on both axes before grading.
Upload or paste a clear card photo, drag the corner markers to match the outer card edges, then adjust the red guide lines to the inner border. Slabox calculates left/right and top/bottom ratios from those guides.
A 50:50 ratio is visually centered. As one side grows wider than the other, the score moves toward 55:45, 60:40, or lower. Those ratios can affect PSA, BGS, and CGC grading expectations.
Use centering as an early screening step alongside corners, edges, surface condition, print defects, and overall eye appeal. The tool helps collectors set expectations, but it cannot guarantee a final grading-company result.
